iF Design Award 2013
The casual lounge collection Hosu, designed by Patricia Urquiola, convinces with its outstanding product design.
The new crossover lounge collection designed by Patricia Urquiola for Coalesse won a Gold iF Design Award in the 2013 competition in the "furniutre/home textiles" category. “Hosu is a habitat to relax, work, think, and read,” said Urquiola. This unique work lounge creates a comforting personal space to relax and get things done. The single-seat lounge can be ordered with a convertible chaise foldout. The two-seat sofa brings two people together even if they are focused on different tasks. Rear and side storage pockets as well as technology accessibility for cords for mobile devices makes it easy to comfortably integrate work and life. Enhancing the collection is the textured Hexa fabric, exclusive to Hosu, also designed by Urquiola and offered in six inspiring colors.
For added relaxation, the lumbar pillow is standard and available in complementary colors. The lounge is available in two sizes, a 88 cm wide one-seater in fixed and convertible versions and a fixed 1.63 m wide two-seater. The iF product design award is one of the most important design competitions worldwide and honors outstanding product design in accordance with criteria such as “design quality,” “innovation,” and “brand value.” Two thousand guests from the international design scene were expected on 22nd February 2013 to celebrate the award winners at BMW Welt in Munich on 22nd February 2013. In addition, we had the privilege to be part of the best 75 award winners who won a Gold iF Design Award that reward design accomplishment.
