Shelley is a Coalesse Sales Consultant located in Toronto, Ontario.
At Coalesse, we love learning and sharing with the design community. We are market testers and makers who look for opportunities to explore and exchange.
In Toronto, we recently gathered a team of experts to discuss with Coalesse Director of Design John Hamilton how we can bring new life to collaborative office meeting spaces.
We discussed the opportunity to rethink conference room solutions, how we think about meetings, and the work being done in those spaces. We have a lot of legacy options that reflect the traditional approach to meeting & conference table needs as well as the needs of the users in those spaces, but the world has changed – a lot.
Our discussions helped us realize that the traditional conference and meeting spaces have not kept up with our need for creative collaboration and social connection. Experiences from the comforts of home and the spirit of community spaces have shaped our new expectations for the office.
The new Coalesse Potrero415 Tables come to us from a design love story. John shared that when we started to design this table collection, we did extensive research into the needs of today’s workplace. We realized that consideration for issues like wellbeing and employee engagement sometimes slips to a lower priority, even though these issues have been shown to contribute to an organization’s overall performance. We are passionate about understanding how technology enables work and how it can be blended with 21st century craft to create applications that support physical, emotional, and sensorial comfort needs.
Potrero415 Tables capture key elements of modern craft which are becoming an antidote to uninspired workspaces by not only heightening functionality and aesthetics but also humanizing the workplace experience.
Our engagement helped us understand how meeting and gathering has changed, encouraging us to look at new ways to create great spaces that inspire great work at the office. How are you adjusting for the new needs of meeting and gathering in the office?
