More than 30,000 architects, designers and design fans descended on London the last week of May for one of the UK’s most acclaimed design events: Clerkenwell Design Week. Over 60 showrooms – including our London WorkLife Center – opened their doors to the public for the three-day event, in addition to the numerous pop-up and temporary exhibitions.
Our WorkLife Center buzzed with clients, including representatives from Virgin Atlantic, the Houses of Parliament, Royal Bank of Scotland and more. In total, 460 people joined us – not in the least because we had put together an exciting program, building brand awareness for Coalesse, Steelcase, and Designtex. We used the platform to show the whole industry the newest cutting-edge design from Coalesse and the fabulous upholstery collection from Wallace#Sewell for Designtex. With the help of Serena Borghero and the Coalesse team, we were able to host renowned product and furniture designer, Michael Young. Young has collaborated with the Coalesse Design Group on projects such as the LessThanFive Chair. Not only did he engage a large group of A&D people with his talk, he also caught the attention of the press, which resulted in a number of feature articles and two photo shoots in our space.
With the joined strengths of our brands, one of the much repeated comments was, “I have truly seen and heard something different here today.”
