Home / Creating Coalesse’s Moss Wall at NeoCon 2016
One of the core tenets of Coalesse’s design philosophy is bringing wellness into the workplace. When people feel inspired and rejuvenated at work, they’re happier and more productive. Since introducing plants and greenery into the office is such an excellent way to refresh a workplace, designer Baillie Davis had the idea of creating a large moss wall to feature in our showroom at NeoCon 2016.
Turning this elegant idea into reality was no easy task. Once the core structure was created using 2x4s and chicken wire, Baillie and the rest of our dedicated design team got to work covering the wall’s 575 square feet of surface area with nearly 600 pounds of reindeer moss. They spent more than 40 hours over the course of three days applying all that moss to the wall, for a total of 250 man hours.
Enjoy our behind-the-scenes look at how the wall was created. We sincerely thank everyone who helped create it — the end result was absolutely beautiful. If you didn’t see the moss wall at NeoCon, it’s still on display in our Chicago showroom. We hope to keep it up until next year’s NeoCon and maybe even longer.
