New design collaborations. New products. This year at NeoCon, we celebrated modern craft and materiality, across a range of introductions, to create inspiring spaces and bring new life to work. As Coalesse Global Design Director John Hamilton explains, “We move the needle from need to want: not, I need a chair, but I want that chair. Not, I need a space but I want that particular space. I go to the office, not because I need to work there, but now, because I want to work there.”
Below, we’re sharing a few of our main highlights from the WorkCafe, Suite 301 — including the new products showcased as part of our exciting creative collaborations with some of the world’s most influential designers, a seminar we hosted to explore the future of biophilic design, and the inside scoop from John Hamilton and Krista Markell, Coalesse Brand Manager.
Along with new and exciting products from our partners – Viccarbe, Enea, Carl Hansen & Son and Sagegreenlife, we featured three inspiring collaborations at NeoCon.
Embracing Residential Influences — Marien152 Seating
Marien152, displayed in the entrance of our showroom, is a new global seating collection designed in the first-ever collaboration with the Coalesse Design Group and world-renowned designer Arik Levy. Soft yet supportive, the new Coalesse Marien152 chairs are inspired by the home but engineered for work. Learn more here.
Celebrating Modern Craft — MoreThanFive Table
Next, the MoreThanFive Table is a natural extension of our original collaboration with Michael Young on the LessThanFive Chair. Both are a celebration of modern craft in materiality and form – with the new cast iron MoreThanFive Table designed to uniquely complement the carbon fiber LessThanFive Chair, or any other social or collaborative setting. And what’s more: new finishes for the LessThanFive Chair invite creative freedom through even more choice — we added 11 new paint finishes that refresh the palette and reflect the Coalesse color point of view. Exploring Color, Pattern and Material — Nanimarquina Rug Collection for Coalesse
We also debuted our first-time collaboration with Spanish rug company nanimarquina, who designed a comprehensive collection of hand-crafted rugs for Coalesse with exclusive global distribution. The nanimarquina collection is inspired by innovative patterns – some found in nature, others drawn or found in textile weaving, and is expected to become available later this year.
We also hosted more than 100 architects, designers and design enthusiasts for an informative, exploratory seminar: Biophilia in Workplace Design – Through Implicit and Explicit Applications. The roundtable discussion was hosted by Lew Epstein with John Hamilton, Global Design Director Coalesse, and Bill Browning, environmental strategist and Partner, Terrapin Bright Green.
The conversation delved into how biophilic design helps create environments that people truly want to work in, exploring how to balance both the physical and symbolic approach to biophilic design — from incorporating plants and natural elements to light patterns that mimic the outdoors. The underlying theme? It’s all about wellbeing. Read more about biophilic design on our blog.
