Home / Our Top 3 Workplace Design Topics of 2019
This year started a new chapter for Coalesse — our second decade as a brand that formed in 2008 as a merging of three Steelcase design partnerships.
Holding true to our desire to provide welcoming work environments at the intersection of today’s work styles and lifestyles, we’re excited to push forward, exploring new ways to promote meaningful work experiences. New ways to solve complex problems with comfort, craft and customization. New ways to help workers feel more at home in the workplace.
As we prepare for a new year, we’ve rounded up our most popular design posts of the past year. Look back with us at our top blog series of 2019.
Coalesse introduced a new brand book this year, giving our customers and partners a fresh picture of what drives and inspires us as we help bring new life to work. As the book explains, we believe work can be a place where people want to go, not where they have to go. That’s why we focus on infusing workspaces with warmth, vitality and soul — three essential qualities that bring people together and enhance their work.
To learn how we understand and apply these qualities, review our recent three-part “Bringing New Life to Work” series: Instilling Warmth, Instilling Vitality and Instilling Soul.
Because technology has freed people to work anywhere, employees are exercising more personal choice in where they work from day to day. Businesses are responding to this reality by creating welcoming, restorative spaces that workers will be drawn to.
Two product features with a recognized power to attract are the colors and patterns of nature. We explored the role of patterns in a blog post examining how Coalesse applies fractals and other geometric shapes to our fabrics, surface materials and product silhouettes. And we investigated the role of color at work in a pair of posts looking at trending office colors and at our refreshed color program, based on the nature-inspired Coalesse color palette. Revisit this three-part series for ideas on designing biophilic spaces that pull workers in.
Designing a modern office that’s both welcoming and tech savvy is an art. That’s the premise of our series on the art of technology in the workplace. If you need inspiration in designing for technology, take a look at this series:
