Now that office workers have spent weeks practicing social and physical distancing, leaders are beginning to discuss what life will be like “on the other side.” Once offices around the world have reopened and companies’ work-from-home guidelines have eased, business as usual will likely be redefined.
But what exactly will the new era look and feel like? In office life, what practices will change? What elements of home will workers want to bring into the office?
Aesthetically, returning workers will notice a clear contrast between the home workspaces they’ve become accustomed to and the office environment they’re going back to. And they may sense a desire to bring more warmth, vitality and soul to the workplace.
One way to do this is by introducing residential touches, including custom materials and patterns.
For those looking for ways to warm up or personalize their office surroundings, our Material Capabilities program is one answer.
This program allows designers and their clients to add residential richness and character by selecting custom tabletops made from natural hardwoods, natural stone and solid composite materials. The program, available only in North America, applies to the Potrero415 Table, SW_1 Conference Table and SW_1 Occasional Table. For details, see our Material Capabilities Program Guide (PDF) or contact the Coalesse Concierge Team.
This 42-inch round SW_1 Conference Table features a custom Natural Walnut top.
This rectangular Potrero415 Table stands out with a custom Carrara Marble top.
A second way we help clients bring a comfortable, residential feel to the office is through the Coalesse Pattern program. This offering applies nature-inspired textural and surface patterns to select products, including the following:
1. Glass-top tables. Using the online Coalesse Customizer, designers can apply one of three patterns (in a range of scales) to frosted glass tops for the Potrero415 Table, SW_1 Conference Table and SW_1 Occasional Table. Choose from a palette of 12 foreground and background colors to create a custom combination. In the example below, a Potrero415 Table has a Pattern 2 top with a Sage background and a Moonlight foreground.
2. Upholstered items. Coalesse offers a collection of seven fabrics, designed in collaboration with Designtex, that imitate patterns found in the natural world. Each pattern is available in multiple colorways reflecting the Coalesse color palette. Their appealing textures make them great for layering. The photo below features Circa Lounge System seating upholstered in 3890 Burrard, with pillows in 3894 Bixby Micro and 3895 Mateo.
